Sexual Violence Prevention Program

In addition to our advocacy and emotional support services, we also raise awareness and challenge myths surrounding sexual violence within our communities. We offer sessions within Schools, Colleges, and Universities for those aged 11 to 25 years old.

The Sexual Violence Prevention Program is funded by the Scottish Government and is led by workers based in local rape crisis centres. It emphasises young people’s participation and is planned to partner with schools and youth groups to meet their needs best.

Our Sexual Violence Prevention sessions give young people a safe space to talk about sex, relationships and sexual violence while looking at issues such as:

  • Consent
  • Power
  • Understanding Sexual Violence
  • Pornography

All of which is key to preventing sexual violence and making a long-term, lasting change within our society.

If you wish to speak to us regarding Sexual Violence Prevention sessions within your School, College or University within the Dumfries and Galloway area, please get in touch; we would love to help.
