FAQ

I wasn’t raped – can I still speak to someone about abuse?

  • Yes, regardless of when the abuse happened, we will still support you. Everyone is different therefore people need different support at different times in their lives.

Do you support men?

  • Yes.

I find it difficult to talk face to face with someone about what happened, how can I get support?

  • It’s normal for survivors of sexual violence to feel like this. If you’re not completely comfortable seeing someone face to face, telephone support could be a good place to start. You could also consider email or text support.

It’s also important to remember that if you start with telephone support, you can always change your mind and switch to face to face support, it’s your support so you can decide.

Do I have to report what happened to the police?

  • We will support you whether you decide to report to the police or not. This decision is entirely yours and we won’t try to influence you in any way. If you do decide to report, we can accompany you if you wish. Reporting to the police can be done at any time, even long after the event.

I am under the age of 18 can I still get support from you?

  • Yes, we have support workers that specialise in working with young people, we support anyone aged 12+.

I am disabled and unable to leave home without help. How am I able to get support?

  • We offer a full outreach service and can deliver your support in your home or other accessible venue, that you are comfortable with.

Do I need to pay?

  • No, our service is free of charge.
